7 Pressbooks Publication Examples

Pressbooks now has a Pressbooks Directory where all publicly available PressbooksEDU publications can be found. The use and adaptation of these publications is flexible depending on what works best for your students, faculty, or staff. You can choose to use parts or all of an original publication as it is in your course or department, or to adapt an existing publication to better suit your needs.

Another avenue for creating Pressbooks OERs that is being explored is co-creating course or topical resources with students. In this instance, student-centred project-based learning is a key aspect within a course’s curriculum. Students learn about research, trustworthy sources, copyright and Creative Commons licensing, scholarly publishing, and collaboration. The instructor facilitates throughout the process, and the project’s end result is a course resource or textbook. Some resource and example links are below:
