Medical Sociology ~ Sociology 3340

The description of Sociology 3340, Medical Sociology, as it appears in the Undergraduate Calendar is a “Sociological analysis of Western medicine as knowledge, institutions, practices, and power.” In Fall 2023 the course was a mix of lecture and seminar discussion, with students presenting material on assigned readings. At the conclusion of the course, students were required to submit a final research paper on any topic in the field of sociology of medicine.
